Jenna Elfman Joins Fox Drama The Interrogator as Stephen Fry’s Handler for the 2026–27 Season

Jenna Elfman has joined the cast of The Interrogator, an upcoming Fox drama series starring Stephen Fry, Deadline reported exclusively. Elfman will play Stephen Fry’s boss and handler in the show, which has already been handed a 12-episode straight-to-series order for Fox’s 2026–27 broadcast season, signaling a full commitment from the network ahead of any pilot airing.

Elfman’s casting marks her latest high-profile television role following three seasons on AMC’s critically praised drama Dark Winds, in which she played a key recurring character. Her addition to The Interrogator places her opposite Fry, the British writer, actor, and broadcaster known for a wide-ranging career spanning Jeeves and Wooster, QI, and multiple film and television productions on both sides of the Atlantic.

The Interrogator marks a notable straight-to-series commitment from Fox, bypassing the standard pilot evaluation process and ordering 12 episodes directly — a vote of confidence in the material and the cast that networks typically reserve for productions with significant creative and commercial pedigree. Full details of the series’ premise and supporting cast beyond Elfman and Fry have not yet been made public by the network.

Elfman is perhaps best known to mainstream audiences for her lead role as Faith Fairfield in the long-running comedy Dharma & Greg, which aired on ABC from 1997 to 2002. In the years since, she has built a diverse portfolio of television work, with Dark Winds representing one of her most prominent recent turns. Dark Winds, produced for AMC and based on Tony Hillerman’s mystery novels, earned strong reviews for its portrayal of Navajo Tribal Police officers in 1970s New Mexico.

No premiere date has been announced for The Interrogator on Fox. The series is scheduled for the 2026–27 broadcast season.
